Just showing up at Coupa Cafe and connecting to their wifi now automatically does a Facebook checkin there. Good idea for Coupa. And when this spreads to embaressing locations it'll make your Facebook feed a lot more interesting, so good for Facebook too!
Seriously, I think it only checks you in if you've already accepted thier TOS once. So the loss of privacy is probably in the 'one more step' sweet spot. The frog is staying in the pot.
